The series of “landscape bowls” touches directly on the artist’s physical and mental childhood “landscapes”. She creates small personal spaces that encapsulate faraway times and places and bring them close. She likens the works to looking through binoculars, telescopes or microscopes which bring the very distant or minute to our intimate nearness. In the process of the work she uses non-art, low materials taken from the environment around her, but through very meticulous fine workmanship and the use of the gold leaf “halo” she elevates the works to allegorical, enchanting small encapsulated worlds.
The works call for slow reflection in order to absorb all the rich details.

Congratulations, looks great! But one must see the pieces to appreciate, not as a photo on the screen.

must agree with mr meyer re the immediate visual contact with the art as each bowl is multi dimensional, both as a whole as well as in it’s parts . though their dainty visual appearance they are very powerful as they connect the viewer to both nature, snippets of experiences, and to a deep vision of the fabric of life . one feels sucked into a time- warp, spinning in an amazing vortex of experiences.
Impressive. I love them all.
Yup. I saw that too.
